In Finland, the UK`s withdrawal from the EU is handled by different ministries according to their respective administrative branches. Finland`s positions are coordinated by the Prime Minister`s Office, which has submitted several reports to Parliament. 4. The following part (Articles 126 to 132) contains provisions on the transition period, which extends until the end of 2020 and is necessary for the transition from withdrawal to the future relationship. The transitional period implies an extension of the application of existing EU rules. The only significant exception is that the UK will no longer be part of the EU institutions and bodies and will no longer participate in the EU decision-making process. This information essentially relates only to the transition period provided for in the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement. Kela will provide more information later, covering the post-transition period. This means that the current rules will remain in force in 2020, as if the UK were still a member of the EU. The European Union and the United Kingdom will discuss their future relationship in the course of 2020. Due to the timing of the negotiations, some sectors may not fall within the scope of the agreement from 1 January 2021. Businesses in particular should be prepared for this possibility.
